We are about to enter the 2010-2011 season and there is the normal excitement of beginning a new year and the apprehension of just how good we can be. We will seek to improve our record from this past season, but as always, we are determined to put together a team that is committed to bring honor to our Lord Jesus Christ, and to our college. We will strive to put aside any selfish ambition and become a team that places one another above ourselves. Our goal is to be the 2010-2011 South Regional Champions and we can only do this if we are a "TEAM".
We face this season without power forward Michaela Estill, a defensive specialist who set the school record for steals in a career; small forward Bonnie McGee, our three point threat, who now owns every record for three point shooting in a career; center Kelly Skelley, who at 5'8 had to stop centers that were 4 to 6 inches taller than herself, and set a school record by shooting the most free throws in a career; and point guard Anna Bailey, a very good defensive player who had her best season in this her senior year. They have been wonderful to coach these past four seasons and will be missed both on and off of the court
If we have the success we desire, it will come only if our returning players work hard this summer to refine their talents, keeping in game shape, and if the new players being recruited are able to contribute immediately.
We will start the season facing some stiff competition from several scholarship schools as will participate in some good classic tournaments. After the Christmas break we will face our regional rivals in what should be a very tough fight for the regional championship.
Being a member of the NATIONAL CHRISTIAN COLLEGE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION DIVISION II, Toccoa Falls College is unable to offer athletic scholarships. Contact the Financial Aid Department to find out what academic scholarships and financial aid are available.
